JSPS Alumni Association of the Philippines (JAAP), Inc.

Brief History

JAAP is recognized as a legitimate alumni organization of Filipino scholars who received grants and fellowships from the Japan Society for the Promotion of Science (JSPS). Its Article of Incorporation was approved on March 4, 2013 with the following officers: Maricar S. Prudente as President, Maria Rowena R. Eguia, Maria Natalia R. Dimaano, Maria Cecilia D. Galvez and Pag-asa D. Gaspillo as incorporators. On March 22, 2013, the incorporators of the association registered it with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) with registration number CN201305277 as a non-stock, non-profit organization.

Mission and Vision

 We work together to make each other realize our full potential in science and technology through research, education, and training. Working collaboratively with the Department of Science and Technology (DOST) and other organizations, we are an effective driving force influencing government policy formulation, providing technical and other research-related services vital to national development

Purposes

  1. To harness and utilize the collective expertise of the members in the promotion of research, education and training in science and technology;
  2. To foster closer ties among JSPS Scholars, and serve as catalyst for cooperative endeavors in science and technology;
  3. To provide a venue that will recommend policies and priority areas tothe  government regarding science and technology issues through the DOST;
  4. To promote and protect the rights and well-being of the members
